Donna Mae Bowen

Donna M. Bowen 75, of Lee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Abraham House of Rome, on July 7, 2021. Born on February 4, 1946, in Greene, N.Y. Donna was a daughter of the late Guy and Marian Hawkins Bowen. Donna worked as a waitress for over 25 years. She was formerly employed by Dan-Dee Donuts, Skate-A-While, Rome Elks Lodge, and Liberty Lane Restaurant prior to her retirement. Donna was a member of the Lee United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving companion, Bernard Rasha, Lee; four daughters and three sons-in-law; Sherrie Griffiths of Rome, Kimberly (Eric) Seifert of Lee Center, Lynnelle (Ben) Watts of Rome, Jacqueline (Anthony) Falcone, Rome; and a son, John (JR) Griffiths (Anne Farmer) of Rome; a sister, Carol Gould of Chenango Forks; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Bowen and a brother, Willis Bowen.

The family would like to thank the Hospice staff and the aides at the Abraham House of both Utica and Rome. Their kindness and care towards their Mom will be remembered forever, as well as the support to the family during this difficult time. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021, at 5 PM at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3-5 pm prior to the service.
