Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Aunt Donna was a beautiful person. My first fondest memory: I was about 10 years old when Aunt Donna had a GTO convertible stick. She put me in that convertible with the top down, along with, Sherrie, JR and Kimmie, and we cruised all over town. She was the coolest Aunt ever. Second, we both have 23 and me, and we enjoyed hours of conversations about our shared relatives and the family history. My last conversation with Aunt Donna was a few months ago, and we spoke for hours about family, faith, politics.. She talked on and on. We laughed, we cried, and we prayed. Finally, I’ll always remember what a loving mother she was to all five of her children. She breast fed them, rocked them for hours on end, and was very protective of them. A very nurturing mother, is what I observed of her. She taught me how to nurture others. Humbly, passionately, always with love. Her journey wasn’t always an easy one, but she never complained about it. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children. She spent many days and nights at our house, while I was growing up, and she always had lots of hugs, kisses, and advice to give us. Sherrie, JR, Kimmie, Lynelle and Jackie, she adored every one of you. Of course, she cherished her grandchildren too. Aunt Donna loved you Cookie with all of her heart. You made her so happy, and with you, she truly knew love. I know you all know this, but this is what I observed. Aunt Carol, my prayers are with you right now, as the only sibling left on this earth. We are all here for all of you, as we go forward in the days to come without our Donna Mae. Know that she was grounded and solid in her faith, and knew she would see the kingdom of God. She is reigning there now. No pain, no suffering, no fear. It is only all of us, who are in pain, who are suffering and fear our days without her ray of light. She lives on in all of you, your children and your memories. God Bless and keep all you. Love to All. Cousin Darlene and family
