Obituary of Jeffery D. Rose

Jeffery Dwayne Rose, 54, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2016. Jeff was born on December 9, 1961 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the son of Jimmie and Neita Lilly Rose. Jeff was educated in both West Virginia and Virginia. In August of 1992 he married the former Jeannine (Gigi) Drewnowski. Jeff was previously employed as a Telecommunications Technician for General Dynamics, located at the Eastern Air Defense Sector of the former Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. He retired, due to illness, in 2006. Jeff received a liver and kidney transplant in 2012 and was an advocate for organ donation. Jeff is survived by his mother, Neita, of Tennessee; a brother, Vincent (Yvonne) Rose, of Tennessee; a daughter, Shelbey (Ken) Wheadon, of Rome; a son, Jeffery (Charity) Wright, of West Virginia; and "the boys" Stephen (Ksenia) Pereto, of North Carolina and Luke (Kelsey) Pereto, of Rochester, NY. Jeff was also known as "Poppi" to grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan, Uliyana, Deeana, Angelina and Anthony. He also leaves behind a special nephew, Travis Rose of TN. Jeff was also a second father and comedian to his daughter's friends, Makenzi ("Ginger kid") Enos, Brittany ("Brittles") Kotash and Brittany ("Brit") Kurtz. Jeff is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, In-Laws, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Two of his cousins were very special to him. They are Clinton Larry and Debra Lilly, both of Virginia. Jeff also leaves his great friend, Johnny Manuele of Rome. Jeff was predeceased by his father, Jimmie Rose. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm with a memorial service immediately following at Strong, Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road in Rome.
