Obituary of Peter P. Bosco

Peter P. Bosco, 96, of Rome, and formerly of Long Island, passed away on July 10, 2017 at Bethany Gardens Nursing Home. He was born on April 27, 1921 in Rome, N.Y. a son of the late Paul and Concetta Zucchetto Bosco. Peter was employed as a Foreign Language Teacher in Long Island and upon retirement became a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist. Peter's true passion in life was playing racquetball; Peter was the N.Y. State Champion and World Champion Racquetball player for his age group. He was a member of St. Johns the Baptist Church and Y.M.C.A. He is survived by two sons and daughter's-in-law, Francis Xavier and Judi Bosco, New York, New York, Paul and Sue Bosco, Brooklyn; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Rick Van Valkenberg, Manhattan, Margaret Minier, CT; one sister, Jean Baker; fifteen grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by three sons, John, Peter Ignatious and Sterling; two brothers, Joseph and Sam Bosco; two sisters, Lena Ellis and Pauline Bosco. Family and fiends are invited to greet the family from 12:P.M. to 3:P.M. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome.
