Patricia M. Burdick
Patricia M. Burdick, beloved mother, cherished grandmother and adoring great-grandmother passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on October 6, 1935, in Utica, N.Y., a daughter of the late John W. and Helen Doyle Mc Incrow, the third child and somewhat of an “oops” baby. Her brother and sister were 13 and 10 years older. Pat’s father passed away when she was 4. In traditional old fashioned style Pat was raised by her mother and her paternal grandmother and aunt.
Pat grew up in New Hartford, N.Y. and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1953. She went on to attend Eastman School of Dental Hygiene, graduating in 1955. Pat began her career at Frankfort- Schuyler Central School District, taking a break to raise her family and then spent many years in the Oriskany Central School District. When schools eliminated Dental Hygiene programs Pat finished her career working as a dental hygienist at the Rome Developmental Center.
She was united in marriage with William C. Burdick on June 29, 1957, at St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford, N.Y. William predeceased Pat on September 11, 1997. Pat was a woman of strong faith, determination and never-ending love for her family. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church of Rome. In her free time, she was an outstanding baker and loved to knit for many years, but most of all cherished time with her family.
Pat was predeceased by her brother, Walter D. Mc Incrow, sister, Helen D. Cunningham and their spouses, along with her brother-in-law, Richard J. Burdick. She was also predeceased by her companion of several years James Mc Mahon; and granddaughter, Amanda Burdick.
Pat leaves behind three children, Cynthia (Mark) De Dominick, Rome, William (Judy) Burdick, Kernersville, N.C. and Robert (Jody) Burdick, Westmoreland, N.Y.
She excelled at being a grandmother and created many beautiful memories wither her six surviving grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly) De Dominick, Michael (Nicole) De Dominick both of Rome. Daniel Burdick, Westmoreland, Robert (Jackey) Burdick, Schenectady, Ryan Burdick and Jenna Burdick both of Kernersville, N.C. Pat also was thrilled to be heavily involved with her great- grands who brought her enormous pleasure. Thomas, Jack, and Benjamin De Dominick of Rome, Viviana De Dominick and her soon-to-be brother and Sophie Burdick, Schenectady. Pat is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Louise (Joseph) Albino, Syracuse, Jane Malloy, Beverly, MA; along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 1 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Church of Rome. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery of Clinton.
