Obituary of Howard Clemens Jr.

   Howard Clemens Jr., 74, of Rome, New York, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on September 19, 2023. Born November 28, 1948, in Westmoreland, New York, he was the son of the late Howard Clemens Sr. and Margaret (Raymond) Clemens. Howard was educated in the Westmoreland School District, following graduation he furthered his education at the collegiate level. Howard went on to join the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Howard later worked for Rome Hospital as a darkroom technician as well as Rome DDSO.

   Howard was united in marriage to Lynda Peters Clemens, the two shared a lifetime of love and happiness and had four children together whom Howard was very proud of. Howard enjoyed time spent with friends and family, especially time spent with his eight grandchildren. He was a true animal lover and enjoyed time spent gardening. Howard was a member of St. Peters Church of Rome, The American Legion, the VFW, Stanwix Men’s Club, The Toccolana Club, and The Galliano Club.

   Howard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lynda Clemens; daughters Jessica Clemens, Andrea Clemens, and Elizabeth (Matt) Conover; son Howard Clemens III; grandchildren Racheal, Emily, and William Cadrette, Alyssa and Jillian Sacco, Gabriel and Gavin Clemens, and Lillian Conover; sisters Pamela and David Burk. He was preceded in death by his sisters Gail and Dana Tryon and Wendy Clemens.

   Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday September 23, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome. A funeral service will follow at 4:00pm
