Obituary of Patricia Martin
Patricia Joy Larkin Heckley Martin (fondly known as Pat) born March 16, 1942, died on March 11, 2023. She was born in Rome NY and graduated from RFA. She lived in central NY in the communities of Rome, Whitesboro, Yorkville, Utica and loved living on Kayuta Lake in Alder Creek. Her final years were at the Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Boonville.
Pat was the daughter of Harold and Nathalie Larkin. Pat is survived by her son Joseph Heckley and her grandchildren Allison and Alex Heckley; brother’s Paul and Bob Larkin; Nephews and Nieces Mark Larkin and his family Michelle, Steven HG and Erik; Randy Larkin; Carl and Dick Baker; Joann Desgrossilier and Mary Claire Mondrick; Mary Larkin Loges, Barbara Patin, and James Larkin; Deborah Larkin Moccaldi, Kathy Larkin Armstrong, and Lisa Larkin. Pat had six other siblings that passed before her, George, Jim, John, Jan, JoAnn, and Fran.
Among her various jobs she held, Pat worked at the Agway in New Hartford, the Masonic Home and the ARC in Utica. She loved to help people which made her time at the ARC more important to her, along with the close friendships she made.
She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping trips to the St Regis Ponds area of the Adirondacks. Pat’s other passion was spending time with family and friends. The joy of eating, playing games, telling stories and just having fun with each other.
To honor Pat’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life Friday April 14th at 5 PM at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4-5 PM prior to the service. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life.
Burial services are Saturday, April 15th at 11 am at Evergreen Cemetery, Lee Center.
