Obituary of Anita M. Barber

Anita M Barber Anita M. Barber, 78, of Rome, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2021, at Rome Health. She was born on April 27, 1943, in Rome, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Viscosi Madonia. Anita attended Rome schools and on July 25, 1964, was united in marriage to Andrew F. Barber, in a ceremony which took place in St. John the Baptist Church of Rome, together they raised two sons, Andrew and Adam. Anita was a member of St. Johns the Baptist Church, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, taking rides in the car with her husband, listening to Elvis on the radio and falling asleep during the ride. Anita is survived by her beloved husband, Andrew; two sons and daughters-in law, Andrew and Pamela Barber, Adam and Wendy Barber all of Rome; a sister, Arlene DePan, Rome; three brothers, Richie (Patty) Madonia, Syracuse, Ronnie (Tracy) Madonia, Rome, Jerry (Mary Kay) Madonia, Taberg; grandchildren, Candace (Kyle) Darois, Kayla (Jackson Pulizzi), Andrew (Lydia Atwell), Alissa (Joseph Izzo), Rebecka (Roy Harper); great grandchildren, Sadie, Colt and Lily. Anita was predeceased by brothers, Angelo, Tony, Vinny, Gabe, Donald, Andy and Bob Madonia. In lieu of Floral arrangements the family request that you send Balloons. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 1 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will take place in St. Johns Cemetery.
