Obituary of Angie Tallarino
Please share a memory of Angie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Angela “Angie” Tallarino, 95, of Rome passed away peacefully in the care of Bethany Gardens on Sunday, June 14, 2020. Angela was born March 1, 1925 in Scranton, PA to parents Frank Orlando and Lucia Marabelle Orlando. Angela married Frank M. Tallarino in 1956 and moved to Rome, NY with him to start a family. Daughter, Katherine Tallarino (Gray) was born in 1957 and son, Michael F. Tallarino in 1960.
Angie is survived by, her daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Gray, brother Albert (Grace) Nardslico, granddaughters Ashley (Michael) Reith, Jaime (Dylan) Conover, and three great-grandchildren whom she adored as well as many nieces and nephews.
Angela is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Lucia, two brothers, Dominick and Frank Orlando and sister, Mary Orlando, her husband Frank M. Tallarino and son Michael, also her best friend and sister-in law, Bridget Orlando, of Scranton, PA.
Angela could be remembered by many for her work at Parmalee School in the cafeteria for many years and managing the snack bar at the Rome Memorial Hospital for the twigs. She was a wonderful seamstress and spent her later years enjoying cooking and baking in her home where she would love to receive visitors. You would never leave her home without a famous chocolate chip cookie in hand and a full belly. She loved passing on traditions to her grandchildren, but you wouldn’t want to cross her by miscounting cookies or cappellettis.
Angie would always remind us of her name, “Angela, just like an angel” and cherished her collection of angels. Those who know her best will think of her and smile whenever they see an image of an angel.
Angela’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Terrace at Woodlands that she called home for almost 5 years where she enjoyed making crafts, playing bingo and harassing the staff about their cooking and the staff at Bethany Gardens where she spend her last few months.
