Obituary of Susan M. McSweeney

On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, Susan M. (Ogden) McSweeney, passed away in Spring Hill, Florida at the age of 71.    

She was born to the late G. Edward and M. Marjorie (Reamore) Ogden on October 14th, 1947, in Rome, NY.  

She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1965, and received an Associate's degree in business from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1967. 

Susan married the late Austin Robert McSweeney “Mac”in July of 1971.They lived in Oneida New York for 11 years before moving to Spring Hill, FL. 

Susan was passionate about raising her 4 children and attending their numerous sporting events all over the states of New York and Florida. She enjoyed breeding and showing Dalmatians. Susan also enjoyed golfing with her husband, along with playing cards and bowling with her sisters. 

Susan is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Austin. She is survived by her three sons, Austin R. Jr. (Misty), Kevin J., Michael T. McSweeney; a daughter, Catherine Bishop (Lauren) and sisters, Patricia (Joseph) LaMonica and Pamela (Frederick) Rahmer and a very special person in her life Indya R. Huckell and she has four beloved grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held on Friday October 4, 2019, at 11:00A.M. at St. Peter’s Church, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday from 4-7 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Interment will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
