GARRY FITZ ALLEN BOYCE MAY 31, 1946 – JANUARY 28, 2019 On Monday, January 28, 2019, Gary F. Boyce, 72, passed away at his home in Rome, NY. Born May 31, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the Son of the late Noel, Sr. and Gloria Boyce. Gary was employed by the Rome City School District. He recently retired from his position as a Head Custodian. Gary was a dedicated member and served as a Trustee at Grace Union AME Church now Pastored by Rev. Leonard Himes. He was also a member of the African American Heritage Association and the NAACP. Our beloved Gary was caring, compassionate and always concerned for the well-being of others. He will be remembered for his quick wit, jovialness and dedication to those in need. He leaves to cherish his memories his brothers: Noel, Jr. and his wife Mary Jane; Bishop Reginald Sr. and his wife Esther; his Sister, Rev. Denise Boyce; his grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The Viewing Service will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the Strong Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road Rome, NY 13440. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Grace Union AME Church 606 Woodland Avenue, Rome, NY, beginning at 12 Noon.
