Terence Hallinan
Terence Hallinan, 81, of Western, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 27, 2018. He was born on March 28, 1937, a son of the late Patrick "Paddy" and Mildred (Rova) Hallinan. He attended Oregon State University and M.V.C.C. On May 18, 1956 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country until March 20, 1959. He was united in marriage to Darlene Miller on December 26, 1963 in Portland, OR. Terence was a hard working man, proud of his Irish heritage. He was a great story teller, enjoyed playing chess, an avid supporter of renewable energy, and had quite a green thumb. He was employed at Griffiss A.F.B. as an engineer, retiring in 1992.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 55 years, Darlene; three sons, Michael of Rome, Patrick (Lidan) of N.J. and Terry of Utica; one daughter Renee (David) Adams of Rome; three siblings Patrick "Joe" (Claudette) of OR, Timothy of MA, and Theresa of CA; and one grandchild, Jairin. Terence was predeceased by a son, Joseph and several siblings.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
