Obituary of Ann Jameson Kotary

Ann Jameson Kotary Ann Jameson Kotary, 74, of Floyd, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 25, 2018. She was born on May 27, 1944, in Lancaster, N.Y., a daughter of the late George and Marion Jameson. Ann was a graduate of V.V.S. High School and was formerly employed at Griffiss Air Force Base until her retirement. On March 16, 1963 she was united in marriage to Joseph George Kotary. Joseph and Ann were married for 52 years, until Joseph's passing on November 17, 2015. Ann worked with the Floyd board of Elections, and was a N.Y. Rangers Hockey Fan. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and feeding the wild animals in her back yard. Her true passion was watching Nascar Racing especially Sprint Car Racing. Ann spent many weekends at local tracks following her son Steven's race team, Kotary Racing. Ann was Steve's #1 Fan. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Keven Tyler; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Michele Kotary, all of Floyd; a brother, Howard Jameson and wife Sandy, New Hampshire; three sisters-in-law, Barbra Jameson, Shirley Plourde and Betty Kotary; four brothers-in-law, James "Sonny" Kotary, Edward "Ezz" Kotary, John and Wilma Kotary, Robert "Bobby" and Clare Kotary; two cherished grandchildren, Dustin Tyler and his girlfriend, Nicole Jacobson , Shelby Kotary and her fiancé Kenneth Pfendler. Ann was predeceased by two brothers, Jimmy Jameson, John Jameson and his wife Vic, a sister, Jane Jackson and her husband Garfield; a brother-in-law, Adam "Fuzz" Kotary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department 8367 Old Floyd Road, Rome N.Y. 13440 of Ziyara Shriners 251 Genesee Street, Utica N.Y. 13501. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 11:000 A.M. at Strong-Burns and Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral Home. Interment will take place in Floyd Cemetery.
