Obituary of Theodore T. Dombrowski

Theodore A. Dombrowski, 88, of Rome, N.Y. passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 17, 1929 in East Chicago, IN, a son of the late Theodore and Victoria Marszalek Dombrowski. Theodore was a graduate of R.F.A. Class of 1948. He continued his education at Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago. Theodore proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954. On May 3, 1958 he was united in marriage to Crystal T. Catello at St. John the Baptist Church of Rome. Theodore owned and operated Dombrowski Funeral Home of Rome, was employed by Rome Memorial Hospital for 40 years and was a monitor for Birnie Bus. He was a lifelong member of Transfiguration Church, where he served as an Usher. Theodore was a dedicated member of the Polish Home, Polish Independent Club, the Frank J. Steczko Post and the Ava Dorfman Senior Center.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Crystal Dombrowski, Rome; two daughters, Theresa (Ronald) Jameson, Rome, Tina (Ronald) Louis, Sherrill; three sons, Theodore (Shawn) Dombrowski, Timothy(Deborah) Dombrowski, and Thomas (Lisa) Dombrowski all of Rome; a sister Delores (Thomas) Hnat of Syracuse; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Transfiguration Church, Rome, with Rev. Paul Angelicchio officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home 7751 Merrick Road, Rome. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rome.
