I looked forward to seeing Virginia every year, and so did my boys. I really loved Virginia, her upbeat personality, her perpetual smile, and love of animals. I'm glad she didn't suffer and is now in heavenly bliss. Condolences to Georgette and Virginia's family.

I was on the faculty of Bell Road School as a 5th-6th grade teacher with Virginia from 1962 until her retirement in 1979. She was a talented lady and a fine and caring teacher. My wife still makes her recipe of quick sauerbraten that she gave to us and every time it is made we think of Virginia. My late Aunt Josephine belonged with Virginia to "Home Bureau" for years and always said what a fine person she was.

What a grand gal your mom was. As a teacher, she was cheerful and caring. She set a great example to me to just lighten up and go with the flow. I needed to hear that and it made me a better teacher.
As a quilter, Virginia was always encouraging newer girls by sharing her enormous amount of knowledge and skill. I felt comfortable phoning her anytime for answers about my projects. In fact usually she'd just tell me to come over and she'd look at my feeble work and help me correct my errors.
I never heard her complain about her coworkers or quilters. She just didn't have the time or desire for gossip. What she did have time for was talking about her girls. She loved you all very much and was very proud of each of you. Truly you were blessed to have such a great mom. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Virginia's passing. I have many happy memories of her and the family. I am glad that her passing was with no suffering and she is now with Uncle Harry at peace.
I am sorry that I cannot be with you but will be in thought and prayer. My love to you all and know that your Mom is in a better place. You all were wonderful to her and helped her for many years after your Dad died. Remember the good times and know that your love and hers goes on.
