Obituary of Richard R. Benoit

Richard R. Benoit Richard R. Benoit, 50, of Rome, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2018, at the Siengthaler Center in New Hartford N.Y. He was born on September 10, 1967, in Rome, N.Y. Beloved son of Joseph and Mary Benoit. He was a graduate of Rome Catholic High School Class of 1985; he continued his education at M.V.C.C. where he earned an Electrical Engineering Degree. For over 25 years, Richard was employed by Par-Technology. Rich was a true outdoorsman, who loved to go fishing with his children, father and friends. He loved the game of Hockey; he played for both R.C.H. and M.V.C.C. Rich is survived by his mother, Mary Perrone, his father Joseph Benoit and stepmother, Nancy; his girlfriend, Heather Pritchard, and their children, Bennett and Breeanna Benoit, all of Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Judy Benoit of Canandaigua; four aunts, Debbie Benoit, Judy (Joe) Alam, Sandy(Roy) Darrow and Ardythe (Wayne) Heiser; an uncle, Ronald Roth; and cousins, JoAnne Benoit and her son, Rayan Abboud, Carl and Wade Alam. Richard was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard and Josephine Benoit, Arlene and Merk Pritchard; by an uncle, Richard (Dick) Benoit and cousin James Alam. The family would like to thank Dr. Atul Butala and his Staff and the Hospice team at Siegenthaler Center for the care and compassion they provided. Memorial contributions may be made to the Siegenthaler Center 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford N.Y. 13413. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Rome. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, from 3-6 P.M. at Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick Road, Rome .Internment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Rome.
